Whatever you're going through, you’re not alone.

Life can feel complicated, especially when the aspects of our lives that matter most, such as culture, family, religion, gender, and personal values, pull us in many different directions.

Welcome to

Mind within therapy

Mind Within Therapy exists to provide a sanctuary for those navigating the complex intersections of culture, family, religion, and gender.

Our purpose is to support people who feel caught between their authentic selves and the world's expectations.

Here, therapy is culture- and trauma-informed. Just show up as you are; no need to code-switch or explain why you are the way you are.

Life can feel complicated, especially when the aspects of our lives that matter most, such as culture, family, religion, gender, and personal values, pull us in many different directions.

Meet Hassaan

I work with clients who are navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, friendships, family dynamics, relationships, and self-identity.

I focus on working with men and youth who are often not comfortable enough to even entertain the idea of going to therapy.

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

This feels different from a typical therapist website, doesn’t it? our work together probably won’t be typical either.

How it works

1

FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION

Book a free 15-minute consultation. It doesn’t make sense to commit to a therapist without getting a feel for their vibe and learning how they can help you.

This call will be casual, non-professional, and just an honest conversation between us to see if we’re a good match. I’ll answer any questions or worries you may have, and my hope is that you leave the call feeling more reassured that this is the right first step.

2

First session!

If we both feel that we’re a good match, it’s as simple as booking your first session. Don’t worry if you need some time to think about your decision.

We’ll decide on a session frequency that works for you, and ultimately, you’re in charge of your sessions.

Would you believe that it’s as simple as that?

Frequently Asked Questions

about THE EXPERIENCE:

  • The "therapeutic fit" is the most important factor in your progress - more important than any techniques or modalities I use. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can chat, you can ask questions about my style, and we can see if my approach feels like a good match.

  • As you can probably tell from this website, I am very casual, friendly, and informal. While I am not technically your friend, I want you to feel as comfortable in therapy as you would talking to a friend, minus the fear of “what would they think?” Above all, I don’t want a therapy session to feel like a doctor’s visit.

  • That is completely normal! You don’t need to come with a script. My job is to help guide the conversation and ask the right questions to help you uncover what’s most important. There is nothing wrong with saying “I don’t know.”

  • Our first meeting is an "intake" session. It’s a chance for me to learn about your history, what brings you in now, and what you hope to achieve. Think of it as a low-pressure roadmap-building session where we decide where we want to go together.

  • This varies for everyone. Some clients find relief in 8–12 sessions focusing on a specific goal, while others prefer ongoing support for deeper exploration. We will check in regularly to ensure you feel our work is still providing value.

about THE LOGISTICS:

  • My services should be covered under most healthcare plans that cover “Registered Psychotherapy.” Please double check with your provider, and if you have any questions, I am happy to help. I do not offer direct billing at this time.

  • My standard fee is $120 per 50-minute session. I also reserve a limited number of "sliding scale" spots for clients who may have a hard time affording therapy; please ask if these are currently available.

  • Both. We can do whatever you prefer. I offer virtual sessions through a secure platform and in-person sessions in Mississauga, near Square One.
