Therapy for Youth
A space to "be" before you "become""Growing up today is a unique challenge. Between the constant pulse of the digital world, mounting academic pressure, and the deeply personal search for identity, it is easy for young people to feel overwhelmed or lost in the noise."
How I Support Youth & Teens:
At Mind Within Therapy, I offer a foundation of self-confidence and a safe, non-judgmental container where youth can explore who they are. Our work together focuses on:
Managing Anxiety: Developing practical tools to handle the stress of school, social media, and the future.
Identity Exploration: Providing a dedicated space to navigate gender, culture, and personal values without the weight of outside expectations.
Effective Communication: Learning how to express needs and set boundaries with families and peers.

Honestly? The first ten minutes might feel a little weird. But that’s totally normal. Just remember that therapy isn't going to be a lecture or an interrogation. It’s a conversation where you’re the expert on your own life. We can talk about the big stuff, or we can just talk about your week. There’s no "right" way to do this.
-
The short answer is: No. What we talk about stays between us. I need you to have a space where you can be 100% yourself.
The only exception is if I’m worried that you are in immediate danger or someone else is hurting you. In those cases, my job is to keep you safe, and we would talk about how to handle that together.
-
Not at all. You’re in the driver’s seat. If there’s a topic that feels too heavy or off-limits, we don’t go there until (and unless) you want to. We move at your pace.
-
That’s my job to help with! You don’t need to come with a script or a list of problems. Some days we might dive deep into a specific challenge, and other days we might just figure out how to get through a stressful week at school. I’ve got the "listening ear" ready whenever you're ready to speak.
Frequently Asked Questions by parents

While the primary relationship is between the youth and myself, family support is often a vital part of the healing process. I typically provide periodic check-ins with parents to discuss general progress and strategies for support at home, while maintaining a private space for your child to express themselves.
-
Trust is the most important element of therapy for a young person. To create a safe environment, I maintain a high level of confidentiality with my youth clients. However, I am legally and ethically required to involve parents or authorities if there is an immediate risk of harm to the child or others. We will discuss these boundaries together during our first session.
-
It can be hard to tell the difference. A good rule of thumb: if their challenges (anxiety, withdrawal, mood shifts) are consistently interfering with their schoolwork, friendships, or physical health (sleep/appetite), a professional "listening ear" can provide the clarity they need to get back on track.
-
Yes. Within my booking platform, you can create a profile for your child and book the session on their behalf. I recommend a brief 15-minute consultation first so we can ensure everyone feels comfortable with the plan moving forward.
